How can I log in?

To log in, go to the <a href="https://www.explainsafe.nl/eng/login">Login</a> page. Enter your email address and password (which you have chosen when creating the account). You can only log in if you have already created an account.

How can I register?

By registering yourself, you create an account. From the home page click on <a href="https://www.explainsafe.nl/eng/companies">'To companies'</a> and choose the company for which you want to follow a port instruction. When you are in the business environment, click on 'Log in' at the top right. Under the login screen you can click on the 'Click here to register' link to enter the registration form and start and complete the registration. After registration, you can log in with your username (e-mail address) and password which you created yourself in the login form and choose the desired port safety instruction.

Do I have to install a programm or application to be able to follow a port safety instruction?

No, the instruction can be followed in most commonly used modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) is no longer supported. Since January 2020 we no longer provide technical support to IE11 users. The gate and safety instructions can be followed on a PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone.

What should I do if I have forgotten my password?

Go to the Login page and click on <a href="https://www.explainsafe.nl/eng/password-reset">'Forgot password'.</a> Here you enter your e-mail address and then click on 'Reset password'. You will receive an e-mail containing a link. With this link you can create a new password.

Why do you need my personal information?

We need personal information for registrations and generating certificates. Our privacy statement states how we (as controller) deal with your privacy.

Are my personal data safe?

The platform is GDPR compliant. Your personal data is stored at a certified data center in the Netherlands according to ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and NEN7510. Every month, adjustments are made to the platform to prevent and solve possible security problems. Tests are also performed by third parties to determine whether the platform is still secure and complies with laws and regulations.

What happens with my (personal) data?

We only ask for information that we need for registration, logging in and access to the site. You are responsible for the correctness of your data. Your data will be deleted one year after your registration has expired. For more information, you can consult the privacy statement in the footer of the website.

Can I view, change or delete my data?

You have the right to inspect your data, correct or delete it. You can submit a request for this via data@explain.nl. To prevent abuse, we may ask you to identify yourself. You will receive a response within 4 weeks. You can use the same email address to report a data breach.

What is explainsafe?

Explainsafe is the platform on which various companies have their port or safety instructions managed by eX:plain. Explainsafe is a complete LMS (Learning Management System) where candidates can register themselves on the various environments of the affiliated clients. Also we offer a wide range of admin options to add and invite candidates, report results, and much more, all with the aim of providing the best possible user experience.

For who is explainsafe?

Explainsafe is intended for ones own employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors of sites for which the client wants them to follow a port or safety instruction before they can enter the site and / or carry out work.

Come across a page with spelling errors or incorrect grammar?

Please check your internet browser settings first. The option of Google Chrome letting you automatically translate webpages could be enabled. In certain cases this can cause incorrect text. How do I get the certificate?

If you have successfully completed the test, you can immediately download your certificate. You can also download the certificate later in your account.

How can I get a certificate?

You can obtain a certificate by taking the test. Before taking this test, view the gate or security instructions. You can do this as often as you want. After that you can start the test.

How long is the certificate valid?

That differs from client to client. Usually 1 year, sometimes 2 years. The expiry date is stated on your certificate and will be communicated in advance. See the information we post with the instructions.

How will my employer or client know that I have passed the test?

The employer or client can always look up and view the results of achieved gate instructions. Your data will be automatically deleted 13 months after your last obtained certificate has expired, and 13 months after your last visit or invitation. How often can I take the test?

In most cases a new test is automatically available if you have not passed a test. However, this depends on the configuration per test per environment. It is therefore possible you have to look up the instructions and start again if you have failed.

Why does a timer run with the test?

Your employer determines how much time you have to take a test. There is a timer running to show how much time you have left. If it takes longer than the set time, you can no longer submit the test. You must then follow the instruction again and start a new test.

What can I use 'Mark' for when creating the test questions?

You can leave a question open while taking the test by 'marking' it. You can then return to the highlighted question to answer it before completing the test.

Can I follow the instruction and take the test in my own language?

That depends on the languages ​​chosen by your client or employer. In the drop down menu at the beginning of the instruction and test you can see which languages ​​you can choose from.

Can I follow the instruction and take the test on an iPad?

Explainsafe is accessible to iPad users, both for taking the test and for managing candidates. We do advise you to use the iPad with the latest version of iOS for the most optimal user experience. This also applies to Android tablets and other mobile devices. Keep your browser up to date. You are advised to keep everything up to date at all time before you take an instruction/test on Explainsafe.
